Hi Photographers, Here's the topic I want to discuss in class. Today, the government has declared by executive order that all cameras, video and still, are no longer legal to own.People are asked to turn in their cameras to the local police station to have them licensed. Also, the camera will only take a photo from the hand of the licensed owner (fingerprint technology) Only licensed cameras will be allowed to be owned by the general public. Also, only newspapers and websites supported by the governement will be allowed to use cameras, and post photos. Info: licensed cameras will have a device installed that:allows the government to know who took the photoallows the government to remotely dissable and destroy the cameras ability to take photos. If a camera is lossed or stolen it is the responsiblity of the camera owner to inform the police within one-hour of the loss or destroy the camera remotely by themselves. Discuss how this would effect the following (Pro and Con for each): 1. Police- Pro: They have the advantage of not showing their bad doings into public Con: 2. Families- Pro: When there are thieves, it could be easier to catch with the camera and the government could see Con: If there bad pictures, it will get deleted 3. Students-Pro: teenagers wouldn't get to see perverted pictures Con: Students couldn't take inappropriate pictures; limited learning resources because the government could not allow the students to look at bad pictures; students will be too optimistic because they won't see negative pictures 4. Reporters-Pro: they have to report more good things than to the bads things in the news Con: They might get caught for taking pictures the government doesn't like I don't like this new law because the government is limiting our rights to take pictures and use the camera. What if the person isn't that good at taking pictures, then the government would delete it. Sometimes we want the pictures to be a secret in which we don't want others to be looking at it. People would also be seeing only someone's good doings without knowing that they are really doing lots of bad things because the government is deleting those pictures. We want the people to see the truth and the real things not the fake things that are hiding someone's real identity. |
